The Parador in San Sebastian is newly build on the 200 m high cliff overlooking the harbor and modeled after an old monastery.
It has a large desert garden and pool but at this time of the year the pool water is too cold for swimming.
Visitors are mostly foreign "pensionades", especially English, and move around leisurely or are reading a book on their private room terrace overlooking the sea. At 140 Euros a night, this would be an expensive old age pension.
We feel very young and vigorous in such an environment, bringing down the average age of 72.
